Early Childhood Educator

The Early Childhood Educator at Smarty Pants Academy, under the guidance of the Director or Assistant Director, provides safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care that supports each child's growth and learning. The role includes planning and delivering activities, maintaining a clean and safe environment, following licensing requirements and organizational policies, documenting incidents and other relevant information, and communicating respectfully with children, families, colleagues, and community partners. The educator serves as a positive role model, responds to children's individual needs, follows safety and emergency procedures, and participates in professional development. Candidates should have an Early Childhood Education certificate or approved equivalent experience, valid First Aid and CPR, Safe Food Handling certification, and any required provincial credentials. At least one year of relevant experience is preferred, along with strong communication, organization, teamwork, cultural awareness, and time-management skills, as well as a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check. The position is typically full-time, involves active work with children, and may require flexible scheduling.
