Job description
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Tasks: Calculate fixed assets and depreciation. Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques. Professionalism in customer service. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Pay and receive payments for goods. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Dump truck. Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Willing to travel for extended periods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills.
