School Bus Driver

MGBHLM First Nation is looking for Sub Drivers. The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe, reliable, lawful, and professional transportation of students assigned to MGBHLM First Nation Education Department routes and authorized trips. The position includes student supervision and accountability, vehicle inspection and care, route compliance, communication with families and schools, and prompt reporting of safety, maintenance, attendance, and operational concerns. Responsibilities Hold and maintain a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle operated, including a School Bus S endorsement where required. Provide and maintain an acceptable driver's abstract and all other documentation required by MGBHLM. Provide satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks as required for employment. Provide accurate verification of professional qualifications, certificates, and relevant driving experience. Complete drug and alcohol testing when requested by MGBHLM, including twice-yearly testing where required by the employment contract or policy. Remain medically and physically fit to operate an assigned vehicle safely and promptly report any condition, medication, restriction, or other concern that may affect fitness to drive. Maintain access to the MGBHLM reserve community as required to perform the duties of the position. Route and Schedule Responsibilities Complete assigned morning and afternoon routes according to approved route maps, pickup locations, schedules, and operational direction. Keep the current route map and pickup times in every vehicle used for a regular route. Provide route schedules to families as directed and request that changes to student or transportation information be reported through the established process. Carry only authorized passengers and remains within the legal rated seating capacity of the vehicle.
