Job description
What You'll Do
- Respond to requests from tenants for in-unit repairs in a timely manner
- Assess the reported issue and determine the type of repair and supplies required
- Minor carpentry, plumbing, heating, and other miscellaneous repairs.
- Respond to emergency building issues such as flooding and heat
- Basic maintenance repairs to common areas including changing lightbulbs, unclogging toilets and minor drywall repair
- Preventative maintenance and testing as outlined in Regina Housing preventative maintenance plan
- Determine facility and equipment needs or problems and coordinate solutions with the appropriate members of the Maintenance team
- Snow removal for all properties as necessary
- Interact with tenants, contractors, and other staff members in a positive, professional, and sensitive manner.
What You Need
- Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in general maintenance and repair, or a suitable combination of education and experience
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check with a vulnerable sector search
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in English
- Comfortable using technology and able to learn mobile applications and various digital tools related to daily job duties
- Extensive knowledge of general facility repairs including plumbing and carpentry, as well as hand and power tools and related safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and twist as necessary
- Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs, infrequently lift 50+ lbs, occasionally lift over 100 lbs with assistance
