About the Role Danish Pastry House is looking for an experienced and motivated *Assistant Store Manager* to support the day-to-day operations of our Sherway Gardens location. The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, provide leadership and support to the team, maintain excellent customer service standards, and ensure the store is operating efficiently. The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience in a *bakery, café, coffee shop, quick-service restaurant, or fast-casual environment* and be comfortable working in a busy, customer-focused setting. Key Responsibilities * Support the Store Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of the store. * Lead, coach, and support team members during scheduled shifts. * Assist with training and onboarding new employees. * Support employee scheduling, shift coverage, attendance, and day-to-day staffing needs. * Ensure excellent customer service and address customer questions or concerns professionally. * Assist with opening and closing procedures. * Handle POS transactions, cash procedures, till reconciliation, and other cash-handling responsibilities. * Monitor product availability, inventory levels, and stock replenishment. * Assist with ordering and receiving products and supplies. * Ensure food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and store standards are consistently maintained. * Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health and safety, and company policies. * Support the team during busy periods and assist with food and beverage preparation when required. * Help maintain merchandising and product displays. * Support the Store Manager with employee performance, coaching, and operational concerns. * Assist with maintaining labour and operational efficiency. * Take responsibility for store operations when the Store Manager is unavailable. Qualifications * Previous supervisory, shift-lead, assistant management, or management experience in a *café, bakery, coffee shop, restaurant, QSR, fast-casual, or similar food-service environment*. * Experience working in a high-volume customer-service environment. * Previous experience with brands/environments such as *Tim Hortons, Starbucks, McDonald?s, or similar concepts* is an asset. * Strong leadership and team-management skills. * Experience with POS systems, cash handling, inventory, and opening/closing procedures. * Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Food Handler Certification is an asset. * Must be flexible to work *mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays* based on business needs. * Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
