Job description

Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Attend educational conferences and workshops. Supervise teaching assistants. Counsel students regarding educational, career or vocational issues. Consult with teachers, parents, administrators and community agencies. Co-ordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents and teachers. Refer students to other specialized services when required. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Initiative. Judgement. Organized. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Employment terms options: Shift. Day. Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees. Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations .
