The Central Porter - Service Worker 1 is responsible for a variety of duties supporting department/unit operations within the UAH, Mazankowski, and Edmonton Kaye Clinic. This role involves transporting both patients and equipment, as well as cleaning equipment, in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. The primary work of Central Porters is to move patients between areas of the hospital to support service delivery. This includes moving patients (utilizing the mode that best meets the patient’s needs - via bed, wheelchair etc.), and morgue transfers. Safe patient transport includes verifying patient identification and their destination, assisting healthcare providers in transferring patients to wheelchairs or stretchers (if required), securing treatment devices, including but not limited to IV poles, foley cathete...
