JOB SUMMARY:In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and maintaining production and quality levels while maintaining a continuous improvement focus in a manufacturing/production environment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership and develop FPI employees in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles; ensuring employees have the tools and environment to meet their objectives, remain effective and feel appreciatedLead, manage and maintain a positive environment focusing on Lean Manufacturing strategies and continuous improvement initiativesSupervise employees in a manufacturing/production union environmentMaintain production levels as specified on weekly schedulesResponsible for the consistent quality of product and assembly processesWork order reporting and maintenance on a daily basisMaintain and communicate departmental KPI's Ensure employees have resources needed to do their jobProcess improvements in assembly and material handlingTraining and performance measurement of new and existing employeesWork cell / Assembly line balancing, Standardized Work and cross training of employeesMaintain professional business relationships across all departments to create an efficient information channel; share information and keep other informed of important developmentsImplementation and training of Health & Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations; set a positive example by following regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining hazard awarenessDeal with union related issues when requiredInvolvement with product introduction to shop floor / assembly linesMaintain a current knowledge of product, design and assembly techniquesCoordinate workflow with other departments and shiftsAssist with and support team projects and duties as required QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS:Abilities/Skills/KnowledgeEffective organizational, prioritization and time management skillsAbility to take initiative and follow through until completionStrong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)Ability to develop and maintain good working relationship with management and employeesDemonstrated experience developing effective teamsEducation/Training:Minimum High School Graduate or equivalentCourses in Operations Management, Supervision, Leadership or related an assetLean Manufacturing training preferredExperience:Minimum 5-8 years of exp
