Accountant

Located in Delta, BC, Niradia Enterprises is a privately-owned organization that has long standing experience, a proven track record and a well-respected presence in Western Canada in the construction, real estate, hospitality and property management industries. Viaggio Hospitality Group is our restaurant and hospitality division. It is comprised of a collection of upscale restaurants, casual restaurants, bars, night clubs, hotels, and private liquor stores. We are currently looking for an accountant (Intermediate) *with hospitality experience *to join our team. This role reports directly to the Hospitality Controllers and supports the department of four team members. You will be a resources to all hotel, restaurant and retail team members and managers as it relates to financial obligations, inventory and controls, purchasing, cash controls, forecasting, budgeting and analysis of statements. Responsibilities include: * Bank reconciliations * Monthly/quarterly/annual working papers * Financial statements preparation * Corporate income tax filings * Inventory counts * GST/HST/PST tax returns and supporting documentation * Tax filings including modified business tax returns, consumer used tax returns, and combined excise tax returns * Ensuring compliance with necessary governing bodies * Reconciling deposit payments to inventory received * Preparing inter-company transactions * Reconciling various reports, including accounts receivable, and accounts payable, to general ledger balances Qualifications Include: * Positive attitude and solid work ethic * Ability to work as part of a team * University degree/diploma required (concentration in accounting) and enrollment in CPA program is a bonus * Advanced computer skills including Excel and other Microsoft Office products * Knowledge on computerized accounting software - Sage is an asset * Quickbooks experience * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Highly organized and detail oriented This is a growing company with plenty of room for progression for the right person.
