The University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) Critical Care Program consists of General Systems Intensive Care Unit (GSICU) and the Edmonton Firefighters’ Burn Treatment Unit. The Burn Unit is one of two American Burn Association verified burn centres in Canada with a catchment area of central and northern Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and the northern Territories. As a Registered Nurse working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary Burn Team, you provide evidence-based care to patients with extensive burns and complex wounds requiring intensive care and management. Pediatric patients with burns not requiring artificial airway management are also cared for within this unit.
