With over 20 years of experience in the mushroom industry, we strive to offer our customers great service, support, and a food safe quality product. *About the Position* We are seeking a reliable and experienced *Industrial Mechanic / Millwright* to join our maintenance team in Abbotsford, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the mechanical equipment and systems used throughout our mushroom-growing, harvesting, processing, and packing operations. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced agricultural and food-production environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, dependable, and able to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and preventative maintenance requirements. *Key Responsibilities* * Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production and farm equipment. * Troubleshoot mechanical problems and complete repairs to minimize production downtime. * Maintain and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and other mechanical equipment. * Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems. * Inspect machinery and identify potential mechanical problems before equipment failure occurs. * Install, dismantle, align, and adjust industrial machinery and equipment. * Replace bearings, seals, belts, chains, sprockets, pulleys, and other components. * Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment. * Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and basic machining as required. * Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation. * Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records. * Work with production employees and supervisors to coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance. * Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs based on production requirements. * Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all workplace safety requirements. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area. * Support continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. * Perform other maintenance duties as required. Qualifications * Red Seal *Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)* certification is an asset. * Previous industrial maintenance experience required. * Experience in food processing, agriculture, manufacturing, or a similar production environment is an asset. * Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics. * Welding and fabrication experience is an asset. * Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good communication skills. * Physically able to lift, bend, climb, stand, and work around industrial equipment. * Ability and willingness to work in a *cold, damp, dusty, and sometimes odorous mushroom-production environment*. *Working Conditions* The Millwright will work throughout the mushroom-growing and production facility, including growing rooms, processing areas, packing areas, compost area and mechanical spaces. *The work environment may include:* * Cool and humid conditions. * Wet or damp areas. * Dust and strong odours. * Machinery noise. * Cleaning and sanitation activities. * Working at heights where required. * Physically demanding tasks. * Overtime, weekends, or on-call work when required by production needs. *Safety Responsibilities* Safety is a fundamental part of this position. The successful candidate must: * Follow all company health and safety policies. * Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures before performing maintenance. * Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
