NVRC values employees, offering a competitive salary and a great working environment.GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICEYou will be delivering excellent customer service experiences by preparing lesson plans and instructing programs to teach children and adults how to skate; demonstrating skating techniques to individuals and groups of all ages and abilities; and checking that equipment is in good working order by making minor adjustments and informing supervisors when repairs are needed.ABOUT YOUYou love the rink and helping others be better skaters. You are a team player committed to making a difference in your community. You are a proficient skater and have sound knowledge of ice-skating skills. You have a genuine interest in teaching skating skills to children and adults. You are an excellent communicator with a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. We are looking for people to work for the fall/winter season. Days and times could be any of the following: Mondays 3:30-7:30pm, Tuesdays 3:30-8:00pm, Wednesdays 3:45-6:00pm, Thursdays 3:30-6:30, Fridays 3:30-6:45pm, Saturdays 9:15am-1:00pm,Sundays 10:45am-1:15pm.We operate lessons out of three rinks: Karen Magnussen, Harry Jerome and Canlan Ice Sports.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSCandidates must have current Standard First Aid and have HIGH FIVE Certification or obtain HIGH FIVE certification within 3 months of hire. Teaching/instructing experience, NCCP certification or, other skate instructing courses are considered an asset.All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. HOURS OF WORK: Hours may vary and instructors should be prepared to workdays, evenings and/or weekends at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. HOURLY RATE: The pay for this casual position ranges between $19.57 - $22.84 per hour, based on education and experience, plus 4% vacation pay.
