General machinist

We are a custom design and manufacturing company in Mississauga specializing in global automotive projects of ergonomic workstations including lift assists and overhead structures for major automotive accounts. *We are looking for full time General Machinist (Manual) who enjoys the fast paced and dynamic work we do here at Astra Design Systems. We're open to hiring candidates with little to no experience who are looking for career change.* We offer competitive wages and comprehensive benefits package. Opportunities to complete an apprenticeship while working may be discussed. *Primary Responsibilities:* * Read and interpret shop drawings * Operate shop equipment including band saw, drill press, manual/NC milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, etc. * Remain punctual and on task * Maintain a safe and clean work area * Other functions as assigned *Position Requirements:* * Some experience is preferred however training will be provided as necessary ? Some Manual Milling Machine experience preferred ? Some Manual Lathe Machine experience preferred ? NC Experience considered an asset * Independent thinking as well as good problem solving * Reliable transportation * Eagerness to learn * Strong interpersonal skills * Punctual * Reliable Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour Benefits: * Company events * Dental care * On-site parking * Paid time off Work Location: In person
