Shift, flexible hours, day and weekend work may be required. Overtime may be available. *Duties* * Review job orders, engineering drawings, blueprints and machining specifications to determine required machining operations. * Set up and operate CNC lathe and other assigned metal-cutting equipment to perform repetitive machining operations. * Machine metal components used in the manufacture of custom hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and related assemblies. * Perform machining operations including turning, facing, drilling and boring according to production specifications. * Position, align and secure workpieces and install appropriate cutting tools and tooling for assigned machining operations. * Monitor machining operations and make permitted adjustments to machine settings to maintain dimensional accuracy and production quality. * Enter or adjust permitted machine parameters, including speed, feed and cutting information, according to established machining instructions and procedures. * Verify dimensions of machined components using micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges and other precision measuring instruments. * Inspect machined components for dimensional accuracy, surface condition and conformity with drawings and production specifications. * Identify and report dimensional deviations, tooling problems, machine malfunctions and other production issues. * Change cutting tools and tooling as required during production operations. * Complete required production, inspection and quality-control records. * Handle and organize machined components safely to prevent damage and maintain production flow. * Perform routine machine inspections, cleaning, lubrication and basic preventive maintenance. * Maintain machines, tools and work areas in a clean, safe and organized condition. * Follow established quality-control procedures, manufacturing standards and occupational health and safety requirements. *Qualifications:* * Experience operating and setting up CNC lathe or other metal-machining equipment. * Ability to read and interpret job orders, engineering drawings, blueprints and machining specifications. * Knowledge of machining operations such as turning, facing, drilling and boring. * Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, vernier calipers and gauges. * Ability to verify machined components against specified dimensions and tolerances. * Ability to select and change appropriate cutting tools and tooling for assigned machining operations. * Ability to recognize dimensional deviations, tooling problems and machine malfunctions. * Knowledge of safe machine operation and manufacturing workplace safety procedures. * Ability to perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance. * Ability to work accurately and consistently in a precision manufacturing environment.
