Finance Officer

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Officer brings solid accounting skills and confidence working through complex software and data. Responsibilities Process invoices, expenses, credit cards and recurring payments; verify coding, taxes and approvals; prepare batches for independent authorization. Maintain AP/AR, apply receipts, follow up balances and process approved credits/refunds. Reconcile bank, processor, clearing, ledger and inventory/cost of sales accounts; investigate differences and maintain donation records under approved procedures. Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, month-end/year-end tasks and audit working papers. Trace CRM/Sparkrock transactions and resolve integration exceptions. Use Excel, exports and controlled imports; document procedures, guide colleagues and test approved improvements/automation. Qualifications Accounting education or equivalent competence; independent AP/AR, reconciliation and close experience; knowledge of double-entry accounting, accruals and cut-off. Strong Excel skills (lookups, filters, pivot tables), ability to learn integrated systems, methodical investigation, sound judgment, communication, priority management and confidentiality. Sparkrock, or Dynamics CRM experience is an asset, as are charity/nonprofit, inventory, automation and system implementation experience.
