Job description

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Administer programs to promote industrial and commercial business investment in rural and urban areas. Plan development projects. Develop venture capital sources. Respond to enquiries from members of the business community concerning development opportunities. Prepare reports, research papers, educational texts or articles. Review and evaluate commercial or industrial development proposals. Develop feasibility studies. Prepare funding applications. Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia. Develop and implement business plans. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certified Economic Developer (Ec.D.) through the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC). Computer and technology knowledge: Microsoft Publisher. MS Excel. MS Office. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail.
