Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: This full-time position is responsible for the general and preventative maintenance of the building as directed by the Building Maintenance Manager. The Building Maintenance Assistant is responsible to perform a variety of skilled duties, which may include light H.V.A.C. work, simple electrical repair, general maintenance, and maintenance of all mechanical systems.
HOURS OF WORK: This is a part-time position, working up to 20 hours per week. Must be available to work daytime hours with flexibility on actual hours.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and perform preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment for YWCA Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Community Service Village; an 80,000 square foot facility including on-site shelter residence, office space, meeting rooms, daycare, fitness centre,
and a 34-unit transitional housing facility.
- Ensure Material Safeties Data Sheet (MSDS) information to remain current.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual facility safety checks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must possess a valid drivers license
Thorough knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures; ability to follow proper safety techniques according to YWCA Saskatoon policies
