About this tool

A higher salary does not always make one job offer better than another. Total compensation can include a performance bonus, employer-paid benefits, paid vacation, shorter working hours and the value of avoiding a long commute. This Hibo comparison tool puts those factors side by side so you can see the differences in a consistent format.

The calculator shows annual cash compensation, an estimated value for paid vacation, effective hourly compensation and an adjusted hourly figure that also considers commuting time. The result is intended to organize your decision, not to replace tax, legal or financial advice. It does not estimate income tax because tax results depend on your province, deductions, credits and personal circumstances.

When comparing offers, also review job stability, schedule flexibility, career growth, pension or retirement contributions, health coverage, location and the type of work you will actually do. A small difference in salary may be less important than a large difference in commute, working hours or benefits. Use the numbers as one part of your decision and verify every compensation item in the employer's written offer before accepting.
