*GROUP CARE-Strathearn?EDMONTON, AB * *YOUTH WORKER* *(Full-time, Permanent Position)* *McMan Youth, Family and Community Services* is seeking to recruit a dedicated *Youth Worker* to support children and youth between the ages of 4-11 with complex behavioral needs. Supporting children and youth in a therapeutic home setting during day, afternoon and evening hours, the Youth Worker plays a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment during some of the most active and important parts of a child's day. Guided by the CARE (Creating Conditions for Change) Model, the Youth Worker utilizes a strength-based, solution-focused approach to support each child's unique needs and goals. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships, promoting positive behaviors, and helping children and youth develop life skills while maintaining stability and consistency within the home. Responsibilities include providing direct care and supervision, supporting after-school routines, facilitating recreational and life-skills activities, assisting with meal preparation, supporting personal care and hygiene needs as required, managing emotional and behavioral challenges using trauma-informed practices, completing accurate documentation, and contributing to a positive and supportive team environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, sound judgment, and strong communication skills, along with a commitment to helping children and youth thrive through meaningful connections, compassionate care, and relationship-based support. *Hours: 40 hours per week, Thursday and Friday 7am - 3pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am- 11pm* *Location:* *Edmonton, Alberta* *What you?ll do:* · Connect with and develop helping relationships with youth · Support and offer guidance to youth · Supervise youth in the home · Complete documentation · Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home · Participate in on-going program development *What you bring:* · Completion of a Degree/Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology · Equivalencies may be considered · Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire. · Six (6) months of directly related experience in child/youth/family work · Standard First Aid?Level C CPR + AED · Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months) · Children Services Intervention Record Check (from within the last 6 months) · Valid 3-year Class 5 driver?s license and current drivers abstract are required and/or a reliable vehicle with $2 Million liability auto insurance · Strong communication and relationship building skills are an asset · Ability to deal with complex high needs · Experience with trauma and developmental delays is an asset · Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and harm reduction practices · CARE (Children and Residential Experiences) training is an asset · Desire to see young people succeed · Ability to assist with Personal Care *What?s in it for you:* · The salary for this position is $24.65?$27.74 hour based on qualifications and experience. · An opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people · A commitment to a healthy work life balance, Inclusive and fun environment! · Comprehensive benefits plan that begins on day one of employment. · Employee and Family Assistance Program. · Basic life insurance, pension plan, disability and wellness programs. · Paid holidays and generous paid time-off. · Opportunities for professional growth and development; paid training. · The ability to work with an agency that appreciates *YOU*! *Closing Date:* October 12, 2026 *Competition Number:* GC-43 (Please include on cover letter or resume
