Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Determine weldability of materials. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Organized. Team player. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
