Job description

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Assembly. Tasks: Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts. Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery. Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons. Operate sewing machines or sew by hand. Cut fabric or layers of fabric to specifications. Mark, cut and sew fabric. Type of materials: Leather. Vinyl. Equipment and machinery experience: Leather stitching machine. Type of industry experience: Furniture and fixtures manufacturing company. Furniture upholstery and repair shop. Cleaning experience: Upholstery. Area of specialization: Factory assembly. Seamstress. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
