Fisherman?s Market is part of the Mersey Group, which includes Mersey Seafoods Ltd., Scotia Harvest Inc., Mersey Marine Ltd., Innovative Fishery Products, and Comeau?s Sea Foods Ltd*.* Together, we work closely with local harvesters and suppliers to provide quality products and reliable service through a trusted, vertically integrated seafood supply chain from harvest to customer. *Position Summary* We?re looking for a hands-on and customer-focused Retail Supervisor to join our team and help lead the day-to-day operations of our retail store. You?ll work closely with store management to support the team, deliver excellent customer service, and keep the store running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you?ll guide, train, and support retail staff while helping with sales, inventory, product presentation, and daily store operations. You?ll also help ensure food safety, workplace safety, and company standards are consistently followed. If you?re a strong communicator who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and leading by example in a fast-paced retail environment, we?d love to hear from you. *Key Responsibilities* * Supervise, mentor, and support retail team members to maintain consistent performance and customer service quality. * Train new employees on store procedures, product knowledge, and customer service standards, while providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback. * Assign and monitor daily tasks to ensure smooth store operations across all shifts. * Support store management in achieving sales targets by promoting products, seasonal items, and sales initiatives. * Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner. * Manage staff scheduling and coordinate shift coverage to support operational needs. * Oversee inventory control, including stock rotation, restocking, and reporting discrepancies. * Operate POS systems accurately and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions including end-of-day reconciliation. * Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate store records as required. * Maintain store cleanliness, food safety compliance, and sanitation standards. * Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies. * Contribute to social media content, e-commerce updates, and promotional activities when required. * Perform other duties as required to support retail operations. *Qualifications & Requirements* * Proven experience in retail or customer service supervision or leadership roles * Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment * Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-focused * Experience with POS systems and cash handling is preferred * Familiarity with social media or online retail operations is considered an asset *Core Competencies* * Leadership and team development * Customer service excellence * Problem solving and decision making * Time management and multitasking * Adaptability and operational accountability *Physical & Working Conditions* * Standing for extended periods * Lifting up to 50 lbs * Working in cold, wet, and fast-paced retail and seafood handling environments * Performing repetitive physical tasks including bending, crouching, and inventory handling * Maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards Pay: $21.00 per hour Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Store discount * Vision care Work Location: In person
