We specialize in residential, commercial, and municipal earthworks, including site preparation, grading, trenching, drainage, demolition, septic install and utility installation. Our team values professionalism, safety, and a strong work ethic, and we take pride in delivering projects efficiently and to the highest standard. *Role Description* We are seeking an experienced *Shovel Operator* to join our crew for full?time seasonal work. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast?paced environment, operating a shovel for trench work, pipe installation, backfilling, grading support, and general labour tasks around the job site. You will work closely with machine operators and labourers to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate completion of excavation projects. This is a hands?on, physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, awareness of surroundings, and the ability to work safely around heavy equipment. *Responsibilities* * Perform shovel work for trenching, pipe laying, grading, and backfilling * Assist equipment operators with spotting, depth checks, and layout * Maintain clean and safe work areas * Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE * Support general labour tasks as needed (raking, compacting, site cleanup) * Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors * Work outdoors in varying weather conditions *Qualifications* * Experience working on excavation or construction sites (preferred) * Strong understanding of job site safety * Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods * Reliable transportation to and from job sites * Ability to work well in a team environment * Positive attitude and willingness to learn * CSA?approved safety boots required (other PPE provided) * Ability to read plans, and locates * G Class Licenses *Assets (not required):* * Experience with pipe installation or grading * Knowledge of utility trenching * WHMIS or other safety certifications * Ability to read grade stakes or laser levels *Why Work With Us* * Competitive hourly wage based on experience * Consistent work with a respected local company * Supportive crew and positive work environment * Opportunities to grow into equipment operation or leadership roles Job Type: Full-time Pay: $47,000.00-$60,000.00 per year Benefits: * Company events * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Vision care Ability to commute/relocate: * Cornwall, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: * heavy equipment operator: 3 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
