Service Writer

The Role You Will Play: As a key member of the service team, you will support the efficient operation of the service department while providing exceptional customer service. - Open and close work orders accurately. - Charge out all customer, internal, and warranty work orders in a timely and profitable manner. - Adjust work orders, add segments, and update labour time as required. - Post labour, service travel, and miscellaneous charges to work orders daily. - Record, adjust, and report technician time for work orders and payroll processing. - Review daily timesheets and prepare documentation for Service Manager review. - Ensure detailed repair order stories are complete and accurately reflect work performed. - Communicate with customers regarding equipment repairs, service status updates, delays, and additional work requirements. - Arrange for accurate labour and material billing to customers and internal accounts. - Support scheduling and workflow coordination to ensure technicians have productive workloads. Background Profile: - Previous experience in a service administration and/or service writer - Strong organizational and time management skills - Knowledge of CDK would be considered an asset. - Ability to sit for extended periods while completing administrative tasks, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, and comfortable working in a shop environment.
