Our commitment to excellence in craftsmanship and service is at the core of everything we do. *About the Role* Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will take ownership of full-cycle accounting, project accounting, reconciliations, reporting, process improvement, and day-to-day finance support in a busy construction environment. Our dedication to professional development, employee well-being, and community involvement makes Potvin Construction a great place to grow your career. *Key Responsibilities* · Manage and support full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, job costing, work-in-progress and payroll-related accounting. · Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, working papers, financial statement support, and variance analysis against budget and prior-year results. · Preparation of documents and files for external accountants. · Oversee project accounting, including project expense tracking, cost controls, billable item capture, progress billing, contract and project billing, and organized project financial documentation. · Support work-in-progress reporting, project profitability analysis, cash-flow visibility, budgeting, forecasting, and communication of project financial information to management. · Prepare or support government remittances and compliance filings, including HST, EHT, WSIB, and other required submissions. · Complete intercompany accounting and reconciliations. · Backup for payroll process. · Maintain data accuracy, audit-ready records, confidentiality of financial information, strong internal controls, and documented accounting procedures across systems and records. · Identify system and process gaps, support continuous improvement, and assist with automation and technology initiatives within the accounting function. · Support office operations and assist with insurance renewal processes. · Provide guidance, review, and support to a small accounting team involved in accounts receivable, project creation, and general accounting activities. *Qualifications and Experience* · Minimum of five years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience. · Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance or an equivalent field is required. · A CPA designation or enrolment in the CPA program is considered an asset. · Experience in construction or another project-based environment, including job costing, work-in-progress reporting, progress billing, holdbacks, and project profitability analysis, is considered a strong asset. · ERP experience is required; experience with project-based accounting systems is an asset. · Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills are required. · Experience preparing and filing government remittances, including HST, EHT, and WSIB. · Strong understanding of reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, working papers, internal controls and audit support. · Demonstrated commitment to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and accuracy of financial information. · Ability to work independ
