NUTEM is a best-in-class manufacturer of home care and personal care products. we constantly strive to not only offer the best manufacturing solution, but Also, to ensure we reduce our impact on the Earth. *Overview*: Reporting to the Director R&D and Technical Services, the Manager Research & Development will be focussing on advancing the development of innovative formulations across Laundry, Household Care, and Personal Care products. This position requires a blend of scientific expertise, project management skills, and strategic thinking to drive the creation of new products and improve existing ones. *Key Responsibilities* · Develop new formulations for Laundry, Household care and personal care · Develop innovative solutions on defined objectives like cost, specifications and benchmarks. · Evaluate interactions between formulation components that may impact functionality, safety, product stability, shelf life and processing. · Apply chemistry and the scientific methods to achieve the best desired project outcomes through a systematic and knowledge-based approach · Analyze and evaluate all available raw material options and perform research as required to find new options. · Manage raw material specifications, by creating and customizing specifics per product requirement. · Participate in scale up activities to ensure new formulations can be processed efficiently. · Proficient in good lab and manufacturing practices (GLP/GMP) relevant to household care and personal care products including lab equipment calibration, maintenance, method construction, validation and SOP creation. · Conduct literature searches and patent reviews as required to support the above. · Develop new analytical capability for the laboratory to better assess compositions and aid in competitive analysis. · Develop new product appraisal methods to assess performance in-house, and provide faster screen techniques to demonstrate product performance. · Maintain highly organized records of all batches, inventories of chemical and product samples, technical and safety data sheets, and appraisal and analytical methods; laboratory notebooks must be legible, signed and well documented so as to protect and ensure confidentiality and protect company intellectual property · Participate in the plant?s Continuous Improvement Program · Interface with stakeholders across functions such as quality, business and production teams · Partner with suppliers, perfume houses and 3P test facilities, in coordinating samples for formulation work. · Interface with suppliers & external agencies, labs, technical institutes & experts for, evaluating and validating the results. · Work safely and abide by the company?s safety rules and regulations *Requirements* · Bachelor?s or master?s degree in chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Biochemistry · 5-10 years of relevant R&D experience · Excellent formulation skills, with good knowledge of the raw materials. · Excellent computer skills ? proficient learning technical databases and performing detailed research · Creative thinker with strong analytical approach · Ability to work unsupervised, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to rapidly changing priorities · Knowledge of GMP (household products) is required · Knowledge of FDA, OTC, Health Canada regulations. · Good communication & stakeholder management skills · Team management skills · Proven abilities to work in cross functional and cross-cultural environment · Proficient in Microsoft Office ?
