Summary of Duties The RPN is responsible for initiation, monitoring and discontinuation of hemodialysis treatments of in-centre patients. As a member of the inter-professional team providing person-centered care, the RPN will complete patient assessments, health teaching & family counselling, documentation, set-up/monitoring & trouble shooting of hemodialysis machines and respond to rapid changes in the patient’s hemodynamic status within the scope of practice for a hemodialysis RPN in partnership with the RNs.
