It is a vital part of who we are and how we do business. *Role Overview* The Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial health of our construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong understanding of construction finance, who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. *Key Responsibilities* · Oversee progress billings, draw requests, and customer invoices. · Maintain billing schedules and contract values. · Track unbilled revenue and billing status. · Process supplier and subcontractor invoices. · Ensure proper job and cost code allocations. · Process EFTs, cheque runs, and payment batches. · Track holdbacks, retainage, and subcontract balances. · Monitor project costs and reconcile job cost reports to the general ledger. · Perform month-end accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations. · Prepare Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules. · Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. · Prepare project-related reports for management. · Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. *Qualifications* · Diploma or Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. · 3+ years of accounting experience; construction accounting experience preferred. · Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project accounting. · Knowledge of Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition. · Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. · Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. · Experience with Jonas, Sage 300 Construction, CMiC, Procore, or similar ERP systems. · Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. · Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. · Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. · Strong verbal and written communication skills. *Total Rewards* This is a full-time position with a salary range of $77,000-$83,000 per year.
