Job description
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Wet/damp. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Construction site. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Apprenticeship training: Level two apprenticeship training. Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Driver's abstract. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat.
