Job description
Education: Bachelor's degree. Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm). Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Pharmacy or drugstore. Tasks: Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage. Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
