More than building restaurants, ABURI is cultivating a cultural movement rooted in excellence, hospitality, and community. *Position Summary* Aburi Hana is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented *Pastry Cook* to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare, assemble, and present refined desserts that complement our elevated Japanese fine-dining experience. Working closely with the Head Chef and culinary team, you will bring creativity, technical skill, and precision to every dish while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. *Key Responsibilities* * Prepare, bake, assemble, and plate desserts to established recipes and presentation standards. * Prepare pastry components and execute dessert service with precision and consistency. * Support seasonal dessert development inspired by Japanese ingredients and culinary traditions. * Maintain high standards of flavour, texture, presentation, and portion control. * Complete daily preparation tasks and ensure readiness for service. * Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked pastry station. * Ensure proper ingredient storage, labelling, rotation, and allergen management. * Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures. * Monitor ingredient quality, manage inventory, and minimize waste. * Communicate shortages, equipment issues, and operational needs to kitchen leadership. * Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain efficient service and consistent quality. * Assist with dessert menu development, testing, and refinement. * Contribute to a professional, collaborative, and high-performing kitchen environment. *Qualifications and Requirements* * Minimum 2 years of professional pastry experience in a restaurant, bakery, or fine-dining environment. * Strong pastry, baking, dessert plating, and presentation skills. * Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management. * Ability to follow recipes, precise measurements, and established standards. * Interest in Japanese ingredients, seasonal flavours, and contemporary desserts is an asset. * Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper ingredient handling. * Strong teamwork and communication skills. * Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
