Assignment Location: Sechelt, BC - Sunshine Coast Specialty: Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Start: As early as possible in October; ongoing need Position: Travel Contract, Accommodation and Flight Covered About the Role HealthOPM is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with PACU experience for a travel assignment at a hospital in Sechelt, British Columbia. This opportunity is suited to a PACU nurse interested in working on BC's Sunshine Coast, with a need beginning as early as possible in October and continuing onward. Responsibilities • Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. • Monitor patients during emergence and recovery from anesthesia. • Assess respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, pain and overall recovery status. • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition. • Administer medications and provide pain and symptom management within scope. • Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical and interdisciplinary teams. • Complete accurate clinical documentation and follow site policies and procedures. • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in British Columbia, or ability to obtain BC registration before the assignment. • Recent PACU / post-anesthesia nursing experience. • Current BLS. • Strong acute-care assessment, monitoring and clinical judgment skills. • Availability for a travel assignment in Sechelt, BC beginning in October or shortly thereafter.
