Job description
A.J. Braun Mfg. Limited has been continuing force in structural steel and road safety products for Ontario highway and bridge contractors since 1945. We are looking to add a Autocad/Solidworks Designer to our growing team. The Autocad/Solidworks Designer is responsible for producing accurate 3D models, 2D drawings and documentation to support manufacturing and project execution. Job Requirements Read and interpret contract documents, specifications, structural drawings and customer requirements. Create accurate 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Prepare approval drawings, shop drawings and bills of materials. Collaborate with Design Engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure design intent, manufacturability and project requirements are maintained Apply established drafting standards, design procedures and best practices Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, regulatory requirements and internal specifications. Review drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, and conformity prior to release Revise drawings and documentation based on internal reviews, customer feedback and project changes. Maintain organized and up to date design files, drawings and project documentation. Support production and project teams by responding to design related questions, revisions and clarifications. Qualifications Completion of a college, CEGEP, vocational or technical program in Design Drafting, Engineering Technology or a related field. 4+ years of experience in a design or drafting role, preferably within structural steel, fabrication or manufacturing environments. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3Dmodeling and 2D engineering drawings. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, contract drawings and technical specifications. Solid understanding of drafting standards, design procedures and industry best practices. Experience preparing approval drawings, shop drawings and bills of material. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Experience with AutoCAD is considered an asset. SolidWorks Professional Certification is considered an asset. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
