Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Music Therapist to join our growing team. In this role, you will utilize music-based interventions to enhance the emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of our clients. Your work will focus on creating engaging therapeutic experiences for children and young individuals, fostering development, communication, and overall quality of life through the power of music. Responsibilities * Develop and implement individualized music therapy plans tailored to each client?s needs and goals * Use music-based techniques to support patient care, including emotional regulation, communication skills, and social interaction * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate music therapy into comprehensive treatment plans * Collect data on client progress and adjust therapy approaches accordingly * Engage children in interactive musical activities that promote developmental milestones in areas such as speech, motor skills, and cognition * Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and case management records * Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in music therapy Experience * Proven experience working with children in therapeutic or educational settings * Prior hospital or clinical experience is highly desirable * Familiarity with research methodologies related to music therapy or pediatric care * Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare environments * Experience in case management and data collection for client progress tracking * Background in special education or pediatric development is an asset * Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse populations Qualifications & Requirements * Education or training in Music Therapy from a recognized program * Music Therapist Accreditation (MTA) through the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) is considered an asset, but is not required * Experience working with children, including children with special needs * Experience working with children andyouth with developmental, behavioural, or communication needs * Experience providing individualized music-based therapeutic activities * Strong musical skills, including vocal and instrumental abilities * Comfortable working with children and youth who may present with challenging or aggressive behaviours * Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team * Current First Aid & CPR certification * Current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one * Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations as required Pay: From $25.00 per hour Work Location: On the road
