Job description
What youll accomplish:
-Provide supervision of Metallurgists and Metallurgical Technicians, and take ownership of the Lab
-Provide leadership to the team, including performance feedback on tasks and objectives
-Provide technical support/context to all Mill departments
-Assist with planning, scheduling and coordination of personnel and resources
-Fill in as point of contact when Technical Superintendent is not on site
-Help co-ordinate activities, information, materials or resources to meet deadlines
-Ensure cross-checks are completed as related to routine reporting
-Review reports and trends of mill performance and reagent consumption
-Attend operational and leadership meetings
-Provide input to the budgeting process, including identification of infrastructure and training
-Actively demonstrate a commitment to Safety and Environmental stewardship
Qualifications and skills:
-A degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering and eligible for registration as a P. Eng with APEGS
-8+ years experience, preferably within both operational and engineering environments
-Proficient in the conventional unit processes in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy
-Experience in project management will be an asset
-Proficient in working with Microsoft Office suite
-Working knowledge of the process data system SQL/Access and OSIsoft PI
-Ability to innovate in the areas of uranium processing with a focus on plant efficiency, capital and operating cost optimization and compliance to environmental regulations
-Working knowledge of risk assessment (HAZID/HAZOP) will be an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
