Job description
*(Beaverhouse Band Members and Indigenous Persons will be given priority)* Following the Mission Statement of the Beaverhouse First Nation Band Office, we are seeking a compassionate and culturally grounded Mental Health Worker to provide holistic, culturally appropriate mental health support to community members. This role will integrate Indigenous traditions, teachings, and healing practices with mental health approaches to promote emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. *Key Responsibilities:* * Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, and holistic mental health support to Beaverhouse First Nation members. * Conduct client assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and community supports. * Provide one-on-one and group support, crisis intervention, referrals, and ongoing follow-up. * Build trusting relationships and promote mental health awareness through community outreach, workshops, wellness events, and educational sessions. * Incorporate Indigenous traditions, teachings, ceremonies, and healing practices in collaboration with Knowledge Keepers. * Facilitate access to talking circles, land-based healing, and culturally relevant wellness activities. * Collaborate with the Health and Social Services team and community partners to coordinate holistic care. * Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and client debriefings, sharing relevant updates and culturally appropriate strategies. * Maintain accurate, confidential client records and complete required reports and program documentation. * Contribute to the development of culturally relevant mental health resources, programs, and educational materials. * Support community members in achieving improved emotional, mental, spiritual, and overall well-being. *Required Qualifications:* · A degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Indigenous Studies, Child and Youth Services, Social Services, Mental Health and Addictions, or a related field. · Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a mental health, social services, addictions, or related field. · A combination of relevant education, experience, and certifications may be considered. · Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, TEAMS and other related office programs. *Assets:* · Experience working within Indigenous communities or organizations · Understanding of Native culture, traditions, teachings, and community dynamics · Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle · Valid First Aid/ CPR · Valid Mental Health First Aid Certification · Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and holistic approaches to health and wellness · Excellent written and verbal communication skills *What We Offer:* · Comprehensive Health Benefits- 100% Employer Paid · Paid- Time Off *Salary: *$45,500 - $54,500 annually *How to Apply: *Please submit Cover Letter and Resume to the attention of the Hiring Committee to hr@beaverhousefn.com or can be dropped off at 26 Station Rd N, Kirkland Lake, ON. *Closing Date: *October 16, 2026 Upon acceptance of the position, a Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.
