Job description

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Project Manager serves as the primary point of programmatic performance within the Programs' team, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, and/or scope. This role supports the River Class Destroyer program by enforcing best practices, driving compliance, and identifying opportunities for process optimization. Additionally, the Project Manager leads or supports program-wide cost and account control metrics and Program performance, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the RCD Program.RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the health and performance of the Program's IPT control accounts, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and scope baselinesSupport IPT leads and CAMs in interpreting Earned Value Management (EVM) data and assembling program performance review materials.Collaborate closely with Control Account Managers (CAMs) to ensure control account plans, performance data, and reporting outputs are complete, accurate, and of high quality. Identify and drive metrics and KPIs within the control account management framework, contributing to overall program excellence.Facilitate program-level organizational improvements, including process redesign, tool enhancements, and cross-functional coordination. Prepare and present status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision making.Serve as the central liaison between the Program Team and Project Controls, ensuring effective communication and integration of control account management practices.Monitor compliance with EVM standards, internal governance requirements, and contractual obligations. Support the Program Manager level ad-hoc initiatives.QUALIFICATIONSPost-secondary degree, in business administration, engineering or related discipline. Additional years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.Recognized PM designation (such as PMI) would be considered an asset.Recognized continuous improvement certification (such as green/black belt) would be considered an asset.Minimum 5-8 years' experience in Project Management, in defense/design/construction industries.Experience in project build sectors, large scope national contracts or heavy industrial sectors an asset.Strong background in stakeholder management and teamwork skills; pro-active and results focused.High level of competence with core Project Management processes: scheduling, lean methodologies, budgeting and cost forecasting, performance tracking, risk management.Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.ABOUT USFounded in 1882, J.D.
