With multiple retail locations, a growing e-commerce presence, and continued expansion across Canada, we are building a strong team to support the next stage of our growth. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and hands-on *Accounting Manager* to oversee our day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and accounting processes across our retail business. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls, and supporting informed business decisions. Key Responsibilities *Financial Accounting & Reporting* * Oversee daily accounting operations across multiple retail locations and sales channels. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements. * Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. * Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate classification and recording of transactions. * Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial reports for senior management. * Investigate discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of accounting issues. *Retail Accounting & Reconciliation* * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. * Oversee bank, credit card, retail deposit, and payment processor reconciliations. * Reconcile sales transactions from retail stores, Shopify POS, e-commerce platforms, and other sales channels. * Support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, cost of goods sold, and inventory adjustments. * Develop and maintain effective financial controls across retail locations. *Payroll, Tax & Compliance* * Oversee payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, and related reporting. * Manage payroll source deductions, T4s, Records of Employment, and government remittances. * Prepare and file applicable sales tax returns, including HST, GST, and PST. * Manage Employer Health Tax (EHT) filings and remittances. * Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, payroll, and tax reporting requirements. * Coordinate with external accountants and auditors, including preparing year-end supporting documentation. *Process Improvement & Business Support* * Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate accounting procedures. * Develop consistent accounting processes and financial controls across multiple locations. * Partner with retail operations and management teams to support financial accuracy and accountability. * Provide profitability analysis, financial insights, and ad hoc reporting to support business decisions. Qualifications & Experience * Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. * Minimum *5 years of progressive accounting experience*, preferably in retail or a multi-location business. * Strong understanding of financial accounting, general ledger management, and financial reporting. * Hands-on experience with payroll processing, reconciliations, and government remittances. * Experience preparing sales tax and Employer Health Tax filings. * Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. * Advanced proficiency in *Microsoft Excel*, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, formulas, and data analysis. * Experience using *QuickBooks* or comparable account
