Organizational Background: Parkwood Seniors Community is a not-for-profit, charitable, faith-based Continuum of Care located in Waterloo (corner of University Avenue and New Hampshire Street) supported by 23 Mennonite and Brethren in Christ Congregations. It is one of two campuses of Fairview Parkwood Communities. The vibrant Parkwood campus offers more than a housing solution. It has been purposefully designed and expanded to create a sense of community for older adults where all are welcome. *Position Summary*: Parkwood Seniors? Community is seeking an organized, dependable, and service-focused Maintenance Coordinator to support the day-to-day maintenance and building operations across our campus. The Maintenance Coordinator is a hands-on position supporting the day-to-day maintenance and building operations across our campus, ensuring our buildings, equipment, and grounds are safe, functional, and well maintained. This position supports 96 residents in Long-Term Care, 78 residents in Retirement Suites, 18 Garden Homes and more than 90 residents in Independent Apartments. *Reports to:* Executive Director *Position Specific Responsibilities:* include, but not limited to, the following: * Report any immediate or potential hazards to the Executive Director. Works with the Director, Land and Building Services, as required. * Responsible for assistance with all emergency drills and codes. * Responsible for emergency systems (i.e. alarms, fire panel, home security). * Responsible for scheduling and supervision of the maintenance department, as required. * Develop, implement and complete department-specific audits and preventative maintenance as per schedule; document completion and corrective actions. * Coordinates with contractors and qualified trades as required. * Support contract workers completing work at the campus. * Perform general maintenance and repairs to plumbing, electrical, small appliances and equipment. * Perform all tasks with an acceptable standard of skill and sense of responsibility, using qualified trades as required. * Responsible for garbage pickup and recycling throughout the entire campus; dispose of safely. * Responsible for the routine cleaning of hard and carpeted floors. * Complete Maintenance Care requests daily as appropriate. * Order supplies and maintain inventory, as required. * Responsible for pool maintenance; order and restock pool chemical supplies. * Must be available, as per schedule, for on-call to assist with ?after hours? emergencies on the campus. *Skills and Qualifications: * * High school dilpoma required. Post secondary education or a license trade is an asset. * Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in maintenance, facilities, building operations, property management, or a related environment. * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests. * Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, Fire, etc), general maintenance, repairs, inspections and service requests. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, team members and third-party contractors. * Experience in senior living environment is an asset. * Experience with Maintenance Care is an asset. * Vulnerable Sector Police Check, TB Test and COVID vaccine proof required.
