You can learn more about us by visiting our website: www.kostklip.com *About the Opportunity* Do you enjoy working with your hands while finding solutions to challenges that often arise with the manufacturing of plastic profiles? Kostklip® is seeking a self-motivated apprentice machinist who wants to be part of a growing custom tool & die manufacturing department. You would be joining an experienced team of journeyman machinists & die designers during the day shift from 7:00am ? 3:30pm, where you would be involved in the manufacturing of high precision tools & dies. This position is a great fit for an individual with a high attention to detail, who takes pride in their work, and is interested in developing their machining skills and completing their apprenticeship. *Responsibilities include:* Responsibilities include but are not limited to running a CNC mill, wire EDM, manual lathe and mill, precision grinder, along with other common machine shop tools. * Set up and operate CNC Milling and Wire EDM machines (training provided). * Interpret and understand drawings and other furnished specifications. * Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specification and drawing tolerances. * Work with journeymen machinists to improve skills on manual as well as CNC equipment. * Collaborate with other team members to solve technical issues and maintain production schedule. * Safely moving parts and materials with the use of equipment. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. * Comply with company safety and work policies. *Candidate Qualifications and Skills:* * Currently enrolled in and having successfully completed the 1st or 2nd year of a CNC Machinist apprenticeship program*.* * CNC setup experience would be an asset. * Experience with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or similar, would be an asset. * Ability to operate common manual machining equipment. * Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 lbs. * Competence in using common machine shop ancillary equipment, including pedestal grinders, drill presses, belt sanders, and similar tools. * Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required. *Benefits:* Kostklip® is interested in hiring for the long term and benefits include: * Health Spending Account * Extended Health Care * Life Insurance & Disability insurance * Matched RRSP contribution * Financial support for apprentices * Free on-site parking *Schedule:* * 8 hour shift, 7:00am ? 3:30pm * Monday to Friday * Overtime available Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour Benefits: * Casual dress * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * RRSP match * Tuition reimbursement * Vision care Work Location: In person
