Onsite *Employment Type: *Part-Time & Full-Time *Schedule: *Evenings / Weekends / Holidays *Union or Non-Union Role: *Non-Union *Job Summary* Burger Theory, located within the Holiday Inn Oakville @ Bronte, is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role requires evening and weekend availability and is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume casual dining environment. We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated Line Cook who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the kitchen. The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation and execution of menu items in a timely and consistent manner, with a strong focus on quality, presentation, and food safety standards. Our menu features a focus on burgers and wings, requiring efficiency and attention to detail during service. *Key Responsibilities* * Prepare and execute menu items according to recipe and presentation standards * Maintain consistency and quality during high-volume service periods * Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow - this includes set up, operate, and breakdown the kitchen for service * Follow all food safety, hygiene, and brand standards at all times - ensuring safe handling of kitchenware including knives, pots/pans, and other kitchen equipment * Responsible for managing your station, preparing food up to standards, executing service, completing prep, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen is ready for the next service - maintaining appropriate par levels and ensuring kitchen is stocked and prepped * Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products, minimizing food waste - must follow safety and sanitation procedures * Dishwashing is a core responsibility - responsible for washing and maintaining all dishes/cookware used by both the restaurant and kitchen * Complete closing duties and leave the kitchen fully cleaned and organized * Follow hotel and restaurant policies and procedures * Other tasks as requested by management *Requirements* * Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced casual restaurant or bar environment - previous line cook or restaurant experience is preferred * Food handler certification required * Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation * Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team - communicating in an effective and team first manner * Experience in a hotel kitchen or banquet environment is considered an asset, but not required * Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure * Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency * Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, can work independently, organized, flexible (willing to jump in to help team where needed), and has a positive attitude * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods - may be repetitive tasks including bending, reaching, lifting, and moving throughout fast-paced and hot kitchen environment * Ability to lift and carry food supplies and equipment up to approximately 50 pounds * Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required *Compensation* * Expected Wage: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour *Vacancy Status* This job posting represents a current, existing vacancy: Yes *Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Hiring* Artificial Intelligence is used in the hiring process: No *How to Apply:* Please apply for this posting through Indeed. *Accessibility & Equal Opportunity Statement* Holiday Inn is an equal opportunity employer and we would like to thank all applicants for their interest.
