Job description
*Kitchen Line Cook * Our company is looking for a highly motivated and experienced line cook to join our team. As a Line cook, you would be responsible to prepare and deliver to Dinner service, providing a high standard of fresh food in a busy hotel restaurant. Range - $17 - $18.50 + tips Key Responsibilities: * Take control of the breakfast/ lunch/ dinner service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable dinner. * Cooking and managing dinner service and assisting with closing duties. * Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after the dinner rush. * Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times. * Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions. * Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity. * Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date. * Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head Chef/kitchen supervisor. * Collect feedback from the guest during the service session and report to Executive chef on any complaints or issues. * Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. * Adhere to recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met * Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food * Maintain respectful work environment demonstrating integrity and teamwork * Keeps workstation clean and organized including fridge?s/freezers, countertops, and stove tops * Assist with producing menus and new dishes. * Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations. * Able to handle pressure calmly and professionally. * Attend training courses as and when required. * Carry out any other duties as required by management. *Required Education, Skills and Qualifications* Must be: * Passionate about producing high quality food. * Minimum 2-3 years experience * Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalent certificate (preferred) * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Must be able to lift 50 lbs * Must be able to stand, push, pull, and kneel with ease * Must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays * Passionate about producing high quality food * Able to tackle every task given to you with the highest levels of enthusiasm Pay: $17.00-$18.50 per hour Benefits: * Company events * Dental care * Discounted or free food * Extended health care * On-site parking * Store discount * Vision care Ability to commute/relocate: * Calgary, AB T2E 7Y5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Licence/Certification: * Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred) Work Location: In person
