Line cook

*Calling all Line Cooks!* We are looking for a full-time line cook to join our team at BRIXX in Vernon. Shifts are in the evening and on the weekends, with a typical schedule of 3-11pm. *Duties and responsibilities:* · Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, being careful to consider guest food allergies or intolerances. · Manage food quality, portion control and plate presentation to provide a consistent experience for guests. · Work as a team to develop, maintain and follow best practices for food storage and use, ensuring the high standards of quality expected by our leadership team. · Understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, recipes, plating standards and training. · Support the maintenance of a safe and respectful workplace. · Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that food safety practices are followed. · Other duties as assigned. *The ideal candidate for this role is:* · At least one year of cooking experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, but we are willing to train motivated individuals who are passionate about cooking. · Able to withstand extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions. · Able to operate in a high-pressure environment and remain calm and focused in urgent situations. · Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time. · Able to read, write and communicate in an English working environment. · Able to follow verbal and written instructions. · A valid food safety certificate (not mandatory) *What do we offer? * · A fun and professional workplace environment · A free staff meal each day. · Benefits such as dental after a waiting period of 6 months. · Roles are full- or part-time, about 32-37.5 hours per week. · Pay is $19.25-$20.25 per hour, plus tips, depending on your experience. *Want to apply?* Send your resume to karen@noirkitchen.com or drop by BRIXX Brewhouse, which is located in the Prestige Vernon Park Lodge.
