Job description

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Higher education/higher education administration. Applied psychology. Social sciences, general. Economics, general. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Business and/or industry. Community-based agency. Employment agency services. Government department and/or agency. Associations and non profit organizations. Tasks: Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews. Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information. Provide consulting services to community groups and agencies, businesses, industry and other organizations involved in providing community-based career planning support or resources. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook. MS Windows. Database software. Area of work experience: Community service organization. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure.
