The MIABC is looking for a self-motivated, organized Insurance Services Associate to join our Insurance Services team for a one-year contract to cover a leave of absence. Job Summary:The Insurance Services Associate provides professional and technical service to members on their liability, property, and ancillary insurance needs. They act as a supporting team member across assigned member accounts. Job Functions: Communicate directly with members and insurers to respond to routine inquiries regarding policy coverage, documentation, and service requests. Prepare and issue certificates of insurance and process standard endorsements and policy changes independently. Support brokers in preparing quotes, proposals, requests for proposals (RFPs) and renewal documentation for liability, property, and ancillary insurance products. Assist in the administration of new and renewal policies, including preparing binders and issuing documentation under supervision. Maintain and update data in systems such as HubSpot and OMS. Manage and update Statements of Values (SOVs) and renewal tracking tools. Organize and maintain accurate insurance files and documentation. Contribute to internal projects, risk management initiatives, and process improvements as assigned. Assist with additional administrative duties and cross-functional support as required. Follow MIABC service standards, policies and procedures. Cooperate and collaborate with other employees and members in a spirit of teamwork and collegiality. Promote and represent MIABC as a professional association by visiting members, presenting education sessions and attending member conferences and various industry events. Participate in the MIABC?s internal Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Position Qualifications: Level 1 BC Insurance Licence mandatory; Level 2 Licence preferred. Insurance designation (CAIB, CIP, CRM) preferred. 3-5 years of commercial insurance or underwriting experience. Broad knowledge of all classes of insurance for local governments is an asset. Knowledge of cyber and construction insurance is an asset. Good technical insurance knowledge for interpretation and development of policy language. Professional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
