HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) mechanic

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Install and overhaul heating systems. Install refrigeration systems. Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Provide customer service. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Air motioning and circulation. Built up (split system). Ventilation. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
