Hog farm supervisor

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Hog management. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Livestock. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Diagnose livestock health issues. Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Treat livestock health issues. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervision: 5-10 people. Area of specialization: Swine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure.
