Job description
*Job description:* - Supervise and coordinate daily greenhouse labour activities and workflow - Oversee greenhouse employees to ensure harvesting is completed accurately and efficiently, as directed; verify completion - Lead teams in crop work such as *planting, lowering, harvesting, and sanitation* - Monitor productivity, labour hours, production volumes, and employee performance through the company's labour and productivity software system. - Train new employees and coach staff on proper work methods and safety - Assist with ensuring that the Greenhouse conforms to all Food Safety, and Health and Safety requirements. - Communicate issues related to crop health, quality, and labour needs to management - Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area - Assist with reviewing greenhouse needs and opportunities for improvement. - Monitor plant conditions and report any concerns to the Grower/Assistant grower. - Perform minor repairs in the greenhouse, as needed. - Monitor and report maintenance needs to Maintenance Manager - Assist with ensuring all employees in the Greenhouse are trained to perform their jobs properly. - Providing feedback, performance reviews and if necessary, apply progressive discipline processes for non-compliances, in a respectful manner. - Communicate to HR any absences, late arrivals, early departures and midday appointments first thing, daily. - Support growing and packhouse operations; maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points and equipment - Promote teamwork, respect and a positive workplace environment. *Qualifications:* - High school diploma or equivalent, required; post-secondary diploma or bachelor?s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture or related field, preferred - Minimum of 3 years of greenhouse supervisory experience, required - Bilingual English and Spanish, required. - Computer skills required; Microsoft (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) - Experience with productivity and work performance systems (Hoogendorn/Priva, Hortimax/Ridder), preferred. - - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills; numeracy skills, required. - Proven ability to detect plant diseases and the existence of insects. - Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety practices - Ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. - Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour Work Location: In person
