Job description

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Floriculture production. Outdoors. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Clean the crops. Cut horticultural crops. Deleaf agricultural crops to accelerate ripening . Greenhouse cleaning. Harvest seedlings. Operate climate controls. Weeding. Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides. Pot and re-pot plants. Apply fertilizers. Report signs of insect or disease damage. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Clean work area. Type of product: Seasonal plants. Equipment and machinery experience: Forklift. Garden tractors. Irrigation pumps and equipment. Mechanical seeder. Mechanical sprayer. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
