Graphic designer

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Graphic design firm. Corporation. Printing shop. Tasks: Supervise other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians. Estimate time to complete graphic designs and illustrations. Assist in developing storyboards for electronic productions such as multimedia, interactive and digital products and television advertising and productions. Consult with clients to determine the nature and content of illustrations in order to meet their communications needs. Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations. Work in a multidisciplinary environment. Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials. Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives. Establish guidelines for illustrators or photographers. Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements. Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides. Process files and paperwork. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: Autodesk 3ds Max. PageMaker. Corel Draw. AutoCAD. InDesign. Adobe Suite. MS Office. Social Media. WordPress. Adobe Illustrator. HTML.
